KFDM Tour

With running my own (struggling) business and rebuilding our house ourselves, I don't know how we manage to keep up with the homeschool community, but we are doing it and doing it well. We joined our group, Triangle Homeschoolers, for a tour of one of the local news stations. I don't remember all of the particulars, but it was nice to do something different and break from routine.

Our first stop was the editing room, where we watched in detail how commercials are put together and edited. With how much time I spend writing and creating videos and pictures online, I do sometimes wonder why I am not doing that instead. Next, we took a look at where all the data is stored in the storage room. I imagine it was quite the job converting decades of tapes into data files! After that we hung out with Stacy and Jamie, and watched how they sat for long hours pushing buttons to ensure programs and commercials ran on time. This is definitely one place where billions could be lost should the clocks ever stop! Finally, we checked out the coolest place, the newsroom, where all the showcasing takes place. I had the opportunity to 'act' a scene with my pal, Heather, but I froze up!

About Me

Super analyzer with a great big heart.  I'm all about change and want to share my insight as I experience and ponder it.  I am a Hurricane Harvey survivor.  The event was a major catalyst of change within me and without me.  As I am still dealing with the repercussions of rebuilding, I'm learning to let go and embrace what is truly meant for me.
